El libro de las Sombras

There and back again....

Posted on February 1, 2013 at 7:45 PM

-------------------------------------------------

Everything appears to be moving faster and faster, so much that sometimes there isnt enough time to enjoy those little things that really make so much effort be worth

How long has it been since we last took a personal rest, not so much as going on vacation but a rest from everything surrounding us. Going out to the country, walking bare footed in the grass, read a book in the park, walking without direction just enjoying the scenery

Dont you miss the time of our grandparents?

In which life was simpler, more tranquile, in which citylife wasnt such a rush and life in the country was peaceful; when one could enjoy an afternoon in silence

It appears that I've grown more fond of the "Hobbit" in this days; those days (that wont come back) when one could just walk out the door and was right back in nature, in which the field with its streams, fresh breeze with the smell of each season would remind us of the essential link between each person has with the Earth

Those time when people were not alienated from one another and between each and the environment brings me so much yearing so much longing for those past times

This makes me think: so much development so hasty has been for good?

True it has brought many good things. development in medicines, etc, etc.

We also have access to information and comunication at the reach of our fingertips

But with all this is the people happier now than before?

We dont have to make so much effort now as is older times, but that comfort, that we now enjoy, has a price perhaps to high, perhaps we are paying to much  in exchange for a pile of ilusions and empty promises

Perhaps this easiness, this comfort is only a "soma" that puts us to sleep, that distracts us, that furthers us from the truth, that avoids us from reaching our full potential and from finding our true destiny and purpose in this world

Where is the singing river and waterfall, where is the bird and nature, we have reduced them to a showcase.

How long before we are reduced to mere objects?
